Astronomy Workshop for Teachers

York University, Keele Campus

July 08, 2015

Looking for hands-on activities to teach astronomy in your classroom? There’s a new two-day workshop being offered at York University that can help. The course focuses on training teachers in how to run practical, hands-on activities that can be used to teach astronomy to students in grades 9-12. The topics are very current: the search for exoplanets and the origin of the universe. The course was developed by astronomers from York University, as well as three of the University of Toronto’s astronomy institutes: the Dunlap Institute, the Center for Planetary Sciences, and the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics.
